  6. worked for the Austrian government service
  7. 1813-56. His historical tragedies Konig
  8. Ottokars Gluck und Ende/King Ottocar, His
  9. Rise and Fall 1825 and Ein treuer Diener
  10. seines Herrn/A True Servant of His Master
  11. 1826 both involved him with the censor. There
  12. followed his two greatest dramas, Des Meeres
  13. und der Liebe Wellen/The Waves of Sea and
  14. Love 1831, returning to the Hellenic world,
  15. and Der Traum, ein Leben/A Dream Is Life
  16. 1834. He wrote a bitter cycle of poems
  17. Tristia ex Ponto 1835 after an unhappy love
